Varsity Scores “Lucky” 7 in Shut-Out of Novato

3/17 (St. Patrick’s Day):  The Giants went back to their winning ways, and evened their MCAL record to 1-1 while evening their season record to 4-4 after beating the Novato Hornets 7-0 at Moody Field today.

Zack Tonnerre earned his first MCAL victory, throwing six shut-out innings, striking out six and giving up just two hits.  Oliver Pearson needed just twelve pitches to close out the game and secure the victory for Redwood.

The Giants banged nine hits on offense and were flawless in the field, committing no errors on the day.  Henry Zeisler and Dane Goodman combined for almost half of the Giants hits with two hits each, and scored more than half of the Giants runs, each scoring twice.  Zeisler had two stolen bases while Goodman had one.  Riley Marsh added the fourth Giants stolen base.

Michael Connors, Pascal Brassey, Aubrey Sine, Josh Cohen and Michael Benz each added a hit to the Giants box score.

Redwood hosts San Rafael on Tuesday at Moody Field at 4:30 (weather permitting).
