The Chip Block Memorial Golf Tournament

Chip Redwood Baseball

In loving memory and celebration of Chip Block, Redwood Giants Baseball Alumni (1980-1984), there will be a Chip Block Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Peacock Gap Golf Club in San Rafael. A portion of the proceeds will benefit his beloved Redwood Giants Baseball Team via the Dugout Club.

Chip played for the Redwood Giants from 1980-1984 under Manager Joe Anselmo where his positions included catcher and first base. During his tenure on the team, the Redwood Giants were crowned the 1984 MCAL Champions and Chip earned an MCAL All-League Honorable Mention his senior year. He was part of the winning team that returned the “Shake Your Head Yes” tradition to Redwood.

The Chip Block Memorial Golf Tournament is an 18-hole scramble. The entry fee is $150 and includes greens fees, cart and boxed lunch. If you are interested in playing, please contact Angie Block at by July 31st.
