The RW freshmen got back on the winning track beating Campolindo 10-8 in a back and forth game at Endriss Field. Nick Welch stayed hot at the plate and delivered the key hit doubling home two runs in the fifth inning to break a 6-6 tie.
The offense was led by a team effort with 10 RW players recording a hit and 8 different batters driving in runs. After starter Lucas Roy retired the side in order in the top of the first on just 7 pitches the RW freshmen jumped out to an early 3-0 lead scoring once in the first and twice in the second inning. Roy helped his own cause by doubling in a run with two outs in the second. Issac Kreft followed with a run scoring single.
Campolindo took the lead scoring five runs in the top of the third but RW came right back scoring two runs in the bottom of the frame keyed by a two out RBI double by Drake Goodman.
RW would need another comeback as Campolindo took a 6-5 lead in the 5th. Once again RW wasted no time as they came up with four runs of their own in the bottom of the inning finally taking the lead for good. RW moves to 4-2 with the win.
