Rory Minty leads Varsity to first MCAL win over San Marin

3/1: Rory Minty was dominant on the mound in the Giants 3-0 win over San Marin. Minty pitched a complete game shut out, only giving up 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8. Minty appeared strong until the end, finishing the game with a strikeout on his 97th pitch.

The Giants’ hitting woes continue. The ballclub was only able to muster 4 hits. The one bright spot was Connor Yang who blasted a double in the fourth inning to score two. Yang also had a single later in the game. Luca Bove (double) and Merritt Brinckerhoff (single) also had hits for the Giants. Despite the lack of hitting, the Giants were able to take advantage of two errors by San Marin. Redwood was perfect in the field, committing 0 errors.

With the win, Redwood improves to 4-2 overall, 1-0 in MCAL.
