Redwood to Host 1st NCS Game and Earns #1 Seed

In less than 24 hours of their exciting walk-off win against Marin Catholic for the MCAL Playoff Championship, the Giants were informed they earned the #1 seed for the Division 2 NCS Playoffs and will be hosting their game with Northgate from Walnut Creek on Tuesday.  The game will be played at Moody Field at 4pm.  Redwood defeated Northgate in a preseason game on March 3rd but the Broncos scored 5 runs in the late innings when the Giants defense collapsed.  The Giants faced 4 different pitchers that day but didn’t face Senior Austin Dalton who led the Broncos with 46 strike-outs in 47 innings pitched this season.  Northgate is a young team with only 5 Seniors on the 24-man roster.  Their offense is led by freshman Mosiah Liu who at 6-3, 245 pounds hit .398 with 17 RBI’s, 5 doubles, 5 triples and a homer.  We expect a large home crowd to support the Giants in their quest for the NCS title so be sure to come out early as seating is limited.

With the MCAL Championship behind them, the Giants move on to the NCS as the #1 seed
