Redwood Freshman Finish Strong

Al Endriss Field, Larkspur, CA: Redwood’s freshman baseball team finished off their 2016 season, winning their final two games against San Marin and Justin-Siena. The Giants ended the year with an impressive 19 wins and 5 losses. From the start, the freshman looked strong, winning their first eleven games in a row, including impressive wins over Casa Grande, Petaluma and Cardinal Newman. Redwood’s only MCAL defeats were to rival Marin Catholic (6-3 & 2-0). The boys will surely be eager to resume this rivalry in the seasons to come and even the score.

On offense, The Giants scored an incredible 199 runs in 24 games, averaging 8 runs per game over the course of the season. On defense, the freshman allowed only 62 runs to cross the plate over the course of their 2016 season, conceding on average only 2 runs a game. The Giants also notched 11 shutouts this season. Individually, each player should be proud of their personal stats, with many players batting over .300 for the season and contributing with Runs and RBI’s. Overall, Redwood baseball is in good shape in the years to come as this 2016 squad have proven to be exceptional baseball players and true sportsmen in the way they treat their opponents and each other. A special thanks to the coaches, managers and score keepers who helped steer this winning season.

The Freshman End of Season celebration will be held on Saturday May 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 80 Mariner Green Drive (at the clubhouse), Corte Madera. Pot Luck.
