The Redwood Giants 2016 Freshman jump on Petaluma Early And Coast To 11-2 Win Our Freshman team took a commanding early lead on Petaluma and captured an 11-2 victory under cloudy skies at Endriss Field Friday afternoon. The game was decided quickly when the boys scored early with five runs in the first three innings. A groundout by Sam Warren in the second inning got the team offense started, with Jack Morken following with two RBIs on two hits for singles in the third and the fourth. Robbie Wilson pitched lights out. Petaluma only registered three hits off of Wilson, who allowed only one earned run, walked none and struck out five batters in five innings. Erik Simonson relieved Wilson and pitched two solid innings to finish the game. The team built upon their lead adding four runs in the third. Genki LeClair started the inning with a double, scoring Nick Cook. In the fourth, the team scored on a two-run single by Wilson, bringing home Jake Nordstrom and Cook. In the sixth, a clutch ground out scored Zach Gordon to open the scoring in the frame, followed up by Jackson Barry’s single, plating Simonson and Bryce Jehling.
