3/22:  Redwood scored five runs but one would have been all they needed as Zach Cohen earned his third win of the season with a shut out of the Novato Hornets at home.  Cohen lowered his ERA to 1.02 which is his best start in his fourth season as a Varsity Giant.  “He had great control of his pitches and pitched ahead (in the count) all day”, Coach Mike Firenzi said after the game.  Cohen walked two, struck out five and had twenty-three first pitch strikes to the thirty batters he faced in his complete-game victory.

The Giants only had two more hits than the Hornets (9-7), and four guys carried the load, with Eric Doctor, Parker Laret, Zack Kopstein and Nic Gillies tallying eight of the Giants hits with two hits each.  Aubrey Sine added a single to the mix.  Nic Gillies banged two doubles with ‘Doc’ (Doctor) and ‘Kop’ (Kopstein) also roping two-baggers.  Danny Avins, Laret, and Gillies were responsible for knocking in the Giants runs.
