Zach Cohen pitched a complete game shut-out, striking out 3 and giving up 6 hits. After losing 2 of their first 3 games of the 2nd half of the MCAL season, the Giants came out with a vengeance on the road against the Hornets on Friday. Redwood’s defense was flawless as they combined for 18 outs in the field. The Giants bats stayed hot as they banged 12 hits with the loudest coming from doubles by Tyler Peck and Eric Doctor as the two would combine for 4 RBI’s on the day. The batting average leader so far this season, Riley Overend, improved his already impressive stats with 3 hits. Parker Laret, Aubrey Sine, and Adam Hussain also added 2 hits apiece to the Giants total. Zach Kopstein also singled and scored a run. Aaron Dorfler flashed his QB speed as he stole 2 bases with Sine and Laret also swiping a bag. The Giants defend their 1st Place MCAL 11-2 record against 2nd Place Drake (10-3) at home on Tuesday.
