4/24 – Win 9 -5 @ Acalanes

The Freshman again scored early as they plated a run in the top of the 1st.  But Acalanes answered with a run and then dropped a crooked number in the bottom of the 2nd, taking the lead 5-1.  Some folks wondered if the Giants might take a non-conference loss to the Dons from Lafayette.  But the folks wondering weren’t wearing red and black as the Giants tied the score in the top of the 4th, scoring 4 runs.  The Giants would take the lead in the 6th scoring 2 runs, as ‘The Dr.’ Andreas Gleckman put away his bat for the day, earning the win from the mound as he  held the Dons scoreless in his 3 innings pitched.  The Freshman also tallied 21 outs without committing an error in the field.  The Giants again put a double-digit number in the hit column as they banged 13 hits.  Mackie Skall led the attack as he went 4-4 with 2 RBI’s and a run scored.  Pascal Brassey added 3 hits while knocking in 2 and scoring a run.  Nick Paoli-Khadjendouri had 2 hits, 3 RBI’s and also scored.  Cale Tippet also had a hit with 2 RBI’s.  Other Giant hitters were Josh Katz, James Thomson, and Blake Cusick.  The Giants stole 6 times as James Katz, Marco Zazzeron, James Thomson, Michael Connors, Mackie Skall and Drew Jacks all had stolen bases. The Giants play a non-conference double-header vs. Petaluma on Saturday.
