The Freshman again scored early as they plated a run in the top of the 1st. But Acalanes answered with a run and then dropped a crooked number in the bottom of the 2nd, taking the lead 5-1. Some folks wondered if the Giants might take a non-conference loss to the Dons from Lafayette. But the folks wondering weren’t wearing red and black as the Giants tied the score in the top of the 4th, scoring 4 runs. The Giants would take the lead in the 6th scoring 2 runs, as ‘The Dr.’ Andreas Gleckman put away his bat for the day, earning the win from the mound as he held the Dons scoreless in his 3 innings pitched. The Freshman also tallied 21 outs without committing an error in the field. The Giants again put a double-digit number in the hit column as they banged 13 hits. Mackie Skall led the attack as he went 4-4 with 2 RBI’s and a run scored. Pascal Brassey added 3 hits while knocking in 2 and scoring a run. Nick Paoli-Khadjendouri had 2 hits, 3 RBI’s and also scored. Cale Tippet also had a hit with 2 RBI’s. Other Giant hitters were Josh Katz, James Thomson, and Blake Cusick. The Giants stole 6 times as James Katz, Marco Zazzeron, James Thomson, Michael Connors, Mackie Skall and Drew Jacks all had stolen bases. The Giants play a non-conference double-header vs. Petaluma on Saturday.
