The Giants took home their 8th MCAL win on Friday in a see-saw battle as they beat Justin-Siena on the road on Friday. Zach Cohen was touched for 8 runs but only 4 were earned as untimely Redwood errors kept the Braves close. The Giants would tally 4 errors on the day, but their defensive miscues were offset by their hitting, as the out-hit the Braves 13 to 10. Parker Laret led all Giants hitters with 3 hits. Parker also scored 3 of Redwood’s 9 runs. Eric Doctor added 2 hits and Riley Overend, Zach Kopstein, Devon Pence, Zach Cohen, and Adam Hussain each contributed a hit. But the story of the day was Sophomore Aubrey Sine who had 2 homeruns, knocking in 5 runs. After blasting a 3 run homer in the 5-run 4th inning, he blasted another bomb to left, tying the score 8-8. Danny Avins scored on a sacrifice fly in by Adam Hussain in the top of the 7th, putting the Giants up 9-8. Zach Kopstein earned his first win of the season, shutting down the Braves in the bottom of the 7th. Redwood (8-0) will host Marin Catholic (6-2) at Moody on Tuesday after they enjoy Spring Break.
