4/01 – Win 16 – 6 vs. Drake @ Endriss

Less than a week and a half prior, Redwood faced Drake and lost in a non-conference game. Today, when in counted, Redwood dropped a 3 spot in the first inning and then rallied for 12 in the 2nd. Drake would score 6 runs, but could not extend the game as the mercy rule was enacted when they didn’t cut the 10 run margin to 9 by the end of their 5th inning. The Giants more than doubled their hit total from last game (4), as they pounded 11 hits. Pascal Brassey, Cale Tippet, Andreas Gleckman, Mackie Skall, Ryan Nevitt, and Luke Zlatnich each added to the Freshman hit total. Josh Cohen banged a double and Dane Goodman blasted his 2nd homer of the year. Jake Kristy was the leading Giants hitter, going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, knocking in 3 runs. Goodman also had 3 RBI’s. Skall and Cohen added 2 RBI’s each. Gleckman and Kristy each scored 3 times. Cooper McLay, Noah Arrick and Blake Cusick held the Pirates to 6 runs. Arrick pitched a scoreless inning. The Giants hope to the keep their bats hot as they don’t play again until Friday, when they face Justin-Siena at Endriss Field at 4:30.
