3/21 – Loss 1 – 2 vs. Drake @ Endriss

makie_skallMackie Skall waits on a curveball in the non-conference Drake game Saturday.  Skall would end the day with a hit and he scored the only Giants run.  Pascal Brassey lead the team with 2 hits on the day.  The other Redwood hit was a clutch single by Michael Conners in the bottom of the 7th.  After pounding out 37 hits in the 3 games prior, the Giants bats went from cool to cold as Eric Woodrow pitched a complete game four hitter for Drake.  Giants pitchers, Josh Cohen, Cale Tippett and Cooper McLay kept the game close but it would be a ball that didn’t get out of the infield that would seal the Giants fate.  With 2 outs and a runner on second, Shortstop Pascal Brassey made a great play in the hole but the throw to first was just a little late.  Drake was aggressive on the bases all day and this play was no exception as the runner from 2nd scored on the throw from first.  The Giants did not got down easily, as they left the tying and winning runners on base in the bottom of the 7th.  This was a non-conference game against a conference opponent.  The Giants conference record of 1-0 and their season record drops to 6-4.
