3/13: The JV Giants hung on for a 6-4 victory over San Marin at Endriss Field.
Sam Rice took the starting assignment on the mound versus the Mustangs of San Marin and pitched four strong innings, striking out five. The left-hander also displayed a deceptive pickoff move, which he utilized to pickoff three San Marin baserunners.
After scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the first, the Giants scored twice in each of the third and fourth innings, highlighted by an RBI single from Ethan Crawford and through four the Giants led 5-1.
San Marin rallied in the top of the fifth off of reliever Charlie Ginsburg, who battled through command issues and some shaky defense behind him to limit the Mustangs to three runs, stranding the tying and go ahead runs on first and third to end the inning.
The Giants scored an important insurance run in the bottom half on consecutive two-out doubles by Tommy Quanstrom and Rice, and Ginsburg went the rest of the way to close out a 6-4 win.
The Giants were led in hits on the day by Rice with two and in runs scored by Ginsburg with three.

3/15: On a sunny and warm Friday afternoon at Moody Field, the Giants rolled to a 15-0 win over an overmatched Novato squad.
Tommy Quantsrom got the start on the mound and was extremely sharp, striking out ten Novato batters over four innings of shutout ball.
This one was over quickly, as the Giants tallied nine runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Mikey Bender led the hit parade with three hits and five RBIs, Charlie Ginsburg took the team high in runs scored for the game with three and Sam McIntosh padded his season’s lead in getting hit by pitches by wearing it twice.
Thomas Johnson relieved Quanstrom in the top of the fifth to close out the game, which ended by mercy rule after the top of the fifth.
